The Solon Community School District is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Vocal Music Teacher to lead a comprehensive choral music program. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their musical skills, foster a lifelong appreciation for music, and promote excellence in performance through a positive and engaging learning environment. Candidates should have a valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements required for the position or the ability to acquire the appropriate licensure and endorsements. Vocal Director General Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all high school vocal music ensembles, including concert choir, select choir, and jazz choir
- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with state and district music standards.
- Prepare students for concerts, festivals, and competitions
- Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback to support growth and achievement.
- Create an inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation, creativity, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with music department staff to support a comprehensive K-12 music program.
- Recruit and retain students in vocal music programs.

The Solon CSD is located in the heart of the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor area. The district educates approximately 1500 PK-12 students.
